Man dies after 3-day gaming binge

BEIJING, China (AP) -- A man in southern China appears to have died of exhaustion after a three-day Internet gaming binge, state media said Monday.
The 30-year-old man fainted at a cyber cafe in the city of Guangzhou Saturday afternoon after he had been playing games online for three days, the Beijing News reported.

Paramedics tried to revive him but failed and he was declared dead at the cafe, it said. The paper said that he may have died from exhaustion brought on by too many hours on the Internet.
The report did not say what the man, whose name was not given, was playing.
The report said that about 100 other Web surfers "left the cafe in fear after witnessing the man's death."
China has 140 million Internet users, second only to the U.S.. It is one of the world's biggest markets for online games, with tens of millions of players, many of whom hunker down for hours in front of PCs in public Internet cafes.
Several cities have clinics to treat what psychiatrists have dubbed "Internet addiction" in users, many of them children and teenagers, who play online games or surf the Web for days at a time.

I really was surprised by the death of Chinese. I really hate some now days than these days. In past, there were not even something called gameboy and now there are XBOX 360, PS3, GAMECUBE, WHEE???, and many other electroncic things that can suck your brain forever. I know one of older brother and he said he sold his game ID on 700man won in korean. Really, computer was to made for faster messages, searches. But now days, if we think about the "computer" what we only think about is game. I really wish that there will be game for breaking your stress not playing till death.

One more another thing I want to mention is that there was in Korea also died by playing game called "MU" for 3 to 4 days and there muscles are freezed.

Wow, after I’ve read this article, I was really shocked. I already knew that being on the computer for a long time could harm your health, but I never knew that people could die from it! But, I guess that not many people can die from it because first of all, you have to spend really long time on it and I don’t think most people are addicted to computer that much… but I don’t know how harshly people can get addicted so… I think that if people used computers more for its real cause, then I think less people could get addicted because then the real cause for computers are for researching and sending information far away. Most of the time, I thought that people who lived a long time ago, like 30 years, had a better and healthier life than us nowadays because long time ago, there weren’t any computers or electronics so people spent more time outside, breathing fresh air. We, in the other hand, spend much more time inside a building because we have electronics inside and when we do go out, we breathe polluted air from cars and we just go into another building with electronics… I am not saying that there shouldn’t be any electronics, but I think we should spend an even amount of time of electronics and other things as well.

This articles made me afraid of playing on the internet as i do oftenly. It seems even more scary because people are starting to create more and more products that relate to the internet. So does that Pc bong can be a life taker? I believe that playing 3 hours on a computer is completely stupid. I feel really sad for the man who was dead becaue people left him and went. Our dorm announcement said the exact same things as the blog, that reminds me life is short

I was not shocked about this, because these days there is alot of peope go to pc bang and play for more than a day and for many hours. I think this all cause because of games. I heard this event in my dorm too, for the current event. I think this is a really big thing, but acutally alot of people died because of games. Korea had alot of problem but it just became normal that it is not a big event. I think this is the first time in China that is why it is a huge event. I just think there is two many game company that is making addicting game, not games that is fun and just play for only few hours. This is really a huge thing for world, and I just want to tell everyone that games is fun, but it is bad when he do too much.

(It is called the Wii [FYI])Whoh thats awful. Now I know that some people can waste their life playing those games(my self a couple of hours)and I thought thats was a pretty sad when I read some others comments (Wii) muscles
frezzing and such I was pretty disapointed in my fellow man. I mean I like to play some games as much as the next guy but for 3 DAYS!!! Honestly come on guys what do you do for a living??? but all said and done we all have to admit we ALL play too much time on the computer or game platform.

i'm very surprised that the game can kill some one....i play many games and i think i have to play less, but the games really have a poisonous thing.

Man! That man must be out of his mind! I mean I have heard of about 16 hours of game playing but 3 days?!?! Anyways this article does prove that internet addiction is becoming a problem these days. The truth is that many young adolescents and even adults are becoming addicted to internet, games, and etc. I mean computers were meant to help and assist people not to kill people. In Korea things like this also happen. I know an adult in my neighborhood PC Bong that played a game called Maple Story for about a day and a half and fainted of not sleeping. Anyways I hope many people who have read this article can learn from this story and limit their times on the computer. I mean this is all a matter of self control.

I think this article was chosen because it can warn us about the dangers of binge computer using and change our habits to prevent any accidents.

This relates to class because it shows the advancement of China and maybe all of Asia. Wow I never knew that China was second in internet user population. China is getting more technologized including places like South Korea, Japan, and Singapore. I think maybe one day Asia may be able to compete with the Western world. This is an important article and is not to be ignored.

All I want to say for this article is: NO COMMENT.
However, since I cannot “NO COMMENT”, I will write something else. After reading this article, my first instinct was to laugh. But after thinking about it a lot, I realized that this was an extremely sad event. It was ridiculously funny, but terribly sorrowful. I really pray that none of the people in our school will die of a three-day Internet gaming binge, like the Chinese man. We all know that in Korea, PC bangs are very popular by many of the guys, but also some girls like to go and play Starcraft, Sudden Attack, Warcraft, Kartrider, etc. These are stupid games in my opinion. I feel like the guys that go to PC bangs are too engrossed in the games. They’re idiots. Those who play cyber games on the Internet are stupid and stupid and dumb and don’t know anything about life. They only know stuff about games and nothing else. Some people in our dorm are overly obsessed about those games. I hope that in the next generation, PC bang visitors will reduce by a lot of people. God wants us to do something more than to play cyber games on the Internet.

Whoa. I am quite amazed that our third news is about China again. However, when I came to check current events for social studies, I wasn't as shocked because I actually had this news for current events during announcements at the dorm. In Korea, many problems relating to computer cafes (pc bangs) had occured a lot in the past and even during these days too. The games that many Koreans were addicted into and are still addicted into are Sudden Attack, Starcraft, Kartrider, Counterstrick, Lineage, Halo, and many other famous games. Many people were killed in Korea, for spending their entire days in pc bangs too. Korea once used to have a serious problem for the children being addicted to games. However, it seems like problems relating with computer games are decreasing these days, which I am happy to be noticing. I think that when you play too much games on the internet, the electric source comes from the computers, and it affects you mentally. Also, games have bad affects on teenagers, because many games include violence and inappropriate things that is only allowed for adults above a certain age. I think that computer games are a negative influence and can be addicting as much as drugs. I hope that people would stop playing computer games, because I think they are stupid and a waste of time.

Thank you for reading my comment

Using the computer isn’t a bad thing, but this man was addicted to it. There are many games famous world-wide and many people who play it very often. It’s really shocking to hear a person die of playing too many games. I think it would be such an awful way to die like that, by playing too many games. I think people should know this more and be aware not to use the computer for too many hours, because it can damage your brain and from this article, you can die. The computer shouldn’t be used to corrupt or damage you, but to learn something from it or have fun sometimes. I hope people spend their time more wisely and not waste time with computer games and other electronical devices.

This article surprised me when I read that someone died for doing computer games for three days! I never knew that anyone would die from that. I already knew that our eyes get really bad, our health turns bad, and we become dumber even more than we are, but it was shocking to hear that people die from computer games. Sometimes on the TV I see those killing gun games that the professional kids do for everyone to see. I often think, ‘Man! They must play that game a gazillion times!!’ Hearing this information makes me wonder if I use the computer too much. But I see other people using the computer more than me so I think I’m okay. When I read the article I had a feeling that I shouldn’t use the computer too much so that my eyes won’t get bad and I won’t have a higher chance of dying. I wonder what that thirty year old person was playing on the computer because it’s not very likely that a thirty year old man would play a computer game for three days straight. I honestly think that people shouldn’t make games that are too addicting because if they do than people won’t be able to stop playing it and they might end up like that thirty year old man. There are too many things that can be hurtful to us in this world. The things that help the games work are Wii, Xbox, game boy, DS, game cube, Nintendo, TVs, computers, laptops, etc…But I guess all these are made because people want to earn lots of money! That’s just the way of life to humans. I hope many people read that article and make sure they don’t play too much computer games. We should find a way to take care of ourselves so we stay healthy. I feel really sad for the man’s family because it must have been very unbelievable that he died from computer games. I would have not believed it if one of my family died because of computers. Maybe I would crush the computer and throw it away. =] It would have been so frustrating to hear that.
Anyways I think that the incident that happened in China can happen to anyone so we should be careful if we want to live long happy lives! ;]

Now, it may say it happened in China, but this is not too far from Korea, where we live. For real, about a dozen people die because of addiction to games. In fact, Korea has the fastest internet in the world, and most wide distribution of internet and computer distribution, 1 computer for 0.92 people, and internet connection for over 95% of them. Korea is also leading in free online games, such as A.V.A, Special Forces, War Rock, Sudden Attack, Gunz, and about 70 popular free online games are available in Korea, and many users die because once they start playing, they cannot control themselves and becomes totally addicted. (Korea has highest quality free online games such as A.V.A. which beats EA’s most ambitious game Battlefield 2 series and Battlefield 2142 series in video quality and game play ratings.) Also gaming is a problem in many countries, because it triggers violence and causes what is known as Restart Syndrome, and the player looses ability to tell the difference between reality and gaming world, and kills & hurts others and themselves to “restart”. Now I see that it is not just a problem in Korea, but problem faced in many countries with internet gaming development. I believe that government should find ways to restrict the amount of game play, or discourage long-time game plays. In fact, I thought I have read it in International Harold Tribune, that China is already starting to start policy where you loose points when you play over three hours. I think similar action should be taken by the Korean government. It is also most important that we learn to restrict ourselves, to control our actions to the limit where it does no harm to us and those around us.

P.S. (Sorry, its little long...)

Ummm.. I ain't in ur class no more, but I must emphisize that this ain't no big deal no more. There are like 10~20 dying monthly in Korea, due to gaming, but they no longer show up in news! GAME SHOULD BE BASHED FOREVER

I just heard about this article this morning, and again, it wasn’t very surprising for me. Almost everyone knows that being on internet for a long period of time can be very harmful. This article shows that this can hurt not only mentally, but also physically. I hope people get wiser about playing games online or even doing computer. I hope this never happens again because it is very sad and lame that a person died because of the computer. It is very sad that the Chinese person didn’t get rest and fooled himself. I also think that this problem is also part of the café’s fault too because they shouldn’t have let the person be on the computer for that long. I don’t get why the person was so ‘into’ the game but I feel very sorry for him, but he can’t blame anyone. I don’t know if the Chinese government will do something about this problem, but I really hope this doesn’t happen. It was new for me that a person can actually play online for three days. Also the fact that he died. I think this article was chosen because Mr. McAllister want us to be careful and be clever about doing internet. This connects to what we are learning in a way, because this is about China, and this article mentions about China having the second biggest internet market in the world.

I was not very surprised about the cause of this article. I have witnessed this event in my own personal life where this taiwanese student during his summer vacation he has continously attending the cyber cafe. After 2 days he was sent to the hospital for 2 weeks of nurture. All he ate was cup noodles he had no strength and almost got diabetes. I think that people in the current days should use a limit of atleast an hour everyday. It gives bad media informations and its a cause of bad eye infections. This is why you need your parents to stop you from using the internet too much.

I know that game is detrimental to your body, but I would have never guessed that it could lead a person to his or her death. Games are very addictive and when you continue to play for hours and days your body gets very worn down like the Chinese man. China is one of the world's largest internet users. The article was introduced to us because it shows that games are meant to be played at a limited time. You can't play for hours! I see how this reflects to things we have done in class. We have recently learned about China, and this article shows us more about China today. China should use the computer not too frequently; it's for their own health.

I was surprised to know that China has so many products that can easily be harmful. And the fact that the toy company, Mattel, has recalled 18million Chinese toys made me be very disappointed. What if the toys that my little sister’s using is made of harmful materials? Other Chinese export such as toothpaste of tires has deadly chemicals which can kill dozens of patients in Panama. So, I think it is a very good idea for China to have a special battle for products, because it can protect the reputation of “Made in China” label. I hope there’ll no longer be poisonous products.

I actually am not so astonished by this article, because I heard of some Korean people who committed murder because of games and die because of games. I sometimes play games to play, but being addicted is negative. After reading this, I was reminded that PC is one of the most successful products and these shook the economy and markets of the whole world by great deal. Not only computer, other software for the usage of computer impacted the market as well, such as Internets, Mircosoft offices, and the games, which is the issue of this article. Computer games had grown successfully through out the global market and their monies grew huge. But it was negative to some people. Being addicted to games cause waste of time, and even medical problems like this case. However, my prediction to why Mr. Mcallister posted this article is because he wanted to emphasize us that we could do far more at the time to do games, and doing too much games are bad for ourselves too. However, game is a really big market giant…

wow, as i read this article i thought to myself that there were many things happening in China. Its so amazing how people are addicted to the computer. i understand that many people can be addicted to certain things, but i believe that there must be a limit people must set for themselves. This man crossed the line, and he was on the computer for 3 days, and the recived his consequence, and that was death. Whenever i go to pc bangs, there is a chart that shows how long you can play for a certain amount of money, and some are like 10 hours, which i think is ridiculous. Being on the computer, cant be much of a benefit for you, especially if youre playing games. Your postion may harm you, and it damages your brain.
Games are fun for kids, and they are a good source of income, but people should know when to stop, and when the limit is.

I was so shocked when I read this verse. I knew that lots of internet using can harm you. But this is not good. I herd some Korean boy dying in PC room because they played to much online. But this was shocking. There are so many things that make people addicted. If you think about it there are all these online game, game boys, XBOX, PS3, Game cube and more. But I really think that people should know when to stop when they need to stop. I can’t believe that people can just play game for days. It would be so tiring. Since these days there are so many people who is just playing game, doesn’t matter old or young, the world should do something that they can stop people doing so much computers or games. If people lost their life just because of the game, I don’t think that is not God wants these things to happen. I really do hope that all the people who are addicted be able to control themselves and save their lives. As I was reading this I said to my self that I wouldn’t play computer because no one knows, that one day you will be so into the computer…

Oh my gosh!!!!!!!o_o; I was so shocked to find out that someone in China died from playing computer! I couldn't believe that he sticked with the computer for 3days. I've heard of another person from Korea who fainted by playing the computer game for a long time. I feel both sad and angry for people who died form computer. Computer is made for people to enjoy and research (I think..)!! But I can't believe that people use in in a wrong way, which can kill many lives. I hope people think the importance of computer before they start using it in a wrong way, which can hurt health and other people around them.

Wow! This really makes me afraid of doing too much computer. Only once have I played for more than 5 hours at a time without a break. I usually do only 30 min at a time unless I’m doing a multiplayer game. I hope that I will never get so addicted that I will play for days.

This story is a bit scary and weird. It said that the Chinese fear going into the cafe the man had went, and died. It could have been the cafe that caused the man's death, but he also could've died because exhastion. If he did die because of exhastion, then the man was foolish. He should have controlled himself in the first place and stopped using the computer. I use the computer during the weekends and feel the pressure of wanting to do more. But I had to stop myself. Same to the dead man. He should have controlled himself to live a better and longer life. But then a thought occured to me. What if it WAS the cafe that had caused the man's death? What is there was something attracted the man and held him there for three days until he died? It is a bit silly, but there is a chance. Computer was made for us to be more convinient in many things. It shouldn't really pull people to addiction and to their death. I believe that people should be much more careful about self-control and using the computer. No one want to lose their lives. Even though they don't die, they might faint or become very sick. (Does that mean that there should be less research homework?)

Anonymous said...

Cruel fact! I knew many weird things happen in China because of the number of the population, but I never knew that China also has a human controlled by a computer! I thought that happens only in Korea. What about his family? Why did they let the person die of the electronic, or did the dead man even have the family, either friend to carry him out of the computer? Dieing because of the computer is the worse and miserable death ever! Anyway, I feel impatient to the man and I hope he may rest in peace.

It is ashame that someone died of playing games. I cannot believe that someone died of playing games. It tells me that games can be dangerous and that we should not play games. As people say "games take lives," and it appears that this is true. Although this is not the first time of death in gaming I think that we should get rid of games. At first computers were first used for messaging, information, and calculations; now it is being used for entertainment and gaming. Even I am sometimes taken over by games. It is very stressing and annoying but for some queer reason it keeps me playing.
I hope someday I can throw away my temptations toward games and that I will be able to do what I should do.

MORALE:Game is a waste of time

Too much games are not good for you.I encourage people not to play too much game so that the don't die.Now this will help the people that play too much games(addicts). I think the should stop playing too much games.Computers are made for other purposes not games only.Play less so that you will have a healthy life.

I heard some people died by playing computer games for 80 hours and died in Korea. I think that online games can make people get into it and make them addicted to it. I think that playing online games or surfing the web for enough time could be needed, but there is a limit that they can play on the computer or they will die like this man on the article. Like people need rest from working sometime, but there is also rests needed from resting, too. In Korea, they have a place where you can pay money, and use computer for as much as they want as long as they pay for them. I think that they should make a rule for playing it too long. I hope that the people realize that playing too much can kill them.

This blog did surprise me that this guy in China actually died in the café and China had so much internet game downloaders. But then the part about the guy actually dying did not surprise me as much as the downloader in China because people would think China doesn’t have as much internet addicted people as Korea. I feel sorry for the guy’s family because had to pay a huge sum of money to the café. This means that all the computer addicted people will sometimes turn to situations this bad or worse… This made me think that his family will hate using the internet due to his death. Thinking about now days, you can see why people, before computers were made, were not couch potatoes and played outside more than us. We turned lazier by the year because there are games to replace all that outside playing time. Also, now instead of using books, we use the internet or Encarta to find sources which makes our typing faster but also makes us lazier. I think that this was chosen because we use the internet for everything and this is a warning to all the internet addicted people in our class. This relates to something we are doing in class because this is about a man in China and about something that is common in Asia and all the other continents.

I really think that this is an aweful story. I don't understang how you can play that much games for that much time!!!
im surprised again because of the Chinese!!
i had bad thought about chinese but the chinese are making more and more bad stories about themselves!!
and I think the games are not good for ur health. I didnt believe that we could die from playing games but now i understand that games are bad for ur brain and ur body so im not going to play games more that 2hours a day....
thanks for this article !!!

I didnt know so many peaople in china used the computer so often. Computers can make you addicted to them. If you dont control how much long you stay on the computer, it might cause serious damage to your body. In China it is hard to get jobs because the population is too high, therfore even adults have too much time to spare. This will cause people to do things like computer and going to the internet cafe. Computer has become such a big thing in our lives that we might think that if we dont have computers, we wont be able to survive. People such as the man in the article might do it for so long that they might die.

Anonymous said...

Wow!! I have heard that playing too many internet games was bad for you... but I didn't think that it could be that serious!! I mean really, can you actually die from playing on the internet too much?! I guess that this man from China just proved that! I think I will be more careful in the future when I have free time and I am wondering what to do. I will probably think about that man eveytime that I go on the computrer for a while! I hope that this is an example for children and teens(and even adults) across the world. That they will know just how serious playing games on the computer can get! This is an amazing story that continues to amaze me as I think about it more! I wonder if that man would have played as many games as he did, if he knew that he could die in three days!!!

I wasn't very surprised after reading this article because in Korea, there are so many people almost living in cyber cafes. Usually in the news, there are articles about teenagers who are disappearenced from home or left home, they stay in the cyber cafes for more than one week without going out. But not only teenagers, also who are addicted by games or internet, most of them cannot get out of the addiction of computer so they get damages mentally. I think Chinese are in similar situation as Korean has. Some games like sudden attack, starcraft, etc gives bad images about this world to teenagers. So they have to self control playing those games. I surf internet everyweek, everyday. And I am not so addicted but I really enjoy and loved to do internet. Sometimes when I stay front of computer for more than 3hours, I feel very uncomfortable and make me sick.
This article made me think that I should control my computer time. And I was pretty shocked that third blog article was about China again. I think China has many problems more than other countries. The culture of computer has to change because computer has to be used in a good way. So I think people should self control about using computers.

The article about died Chinese made me afraid of playing internet games or surfing internet. But I wasnt surprised about the dead Chinese because in Korea, there are so many people who plays internet games for hours, and there were few people died form it. But I didnt know there were people who still played games for hours. And I dont understand why people plays games for hours. For me, if I play a game for more then 3hours, my eyes hurts and I get tired of it. But I think I should manage my time not to get addicted to games so I dont end up like the Chines guy who died.

Anonymous said...

I got so scared after reading this article because the situation happened to the Chinese guy can happen to us today! We are not so far away from the death caused by games. I used to go to PC room everyday during the summer break. Who knows if I could have been dead during that summer break? I regret how I spent my summer break. I spent my summer break to increase the percentage of my death. From now on. PC room is not an option for me. I will not go to PC room anymore.

Well I find this situation of course sad and unfortunate but as it is sad and unfortuante its also hilarious that a man died by inapropriate amount of time of computer usage. now im not trying to make fun of this guy because it is farely sad and im not making fun of china which I think is a good country. But anyways if this man had just taken 1day or even one hour off he could have lived. But obviously he can't because why?Because he has fallen into the land or world or whatever panes call it but ill just call it the world of addiction. Now the world of addiction on the computer is probably caused by games. Games Games games. Statistics show that games could get as addictive as smoking. These days teenagers dont take the time to study and do their homework after they played games. And because they procrastinate their work their academic scores get lower and thats why parents do not like the addiction of games or even any addiction. When you start a game no matter what you have to go to the next level because thats your first priority right? Did i hear some people who say yes? Well the right answer is yes. The people who say yes are actually wrong because technically speaking yes but logically speaking no because is that level important than the super duper important project thats due tommorow? No of course its not thats why dont waste your time on the computer playing games while you can accomplish so muchmore

well, that was again not much of a shock, you hear about kids who spend a week in a PC bong here in korea that went to the bathroom and his/her brain shut down while he/she was pissing or something. THe only shock was the man part, that was weird, a dude in his thirties playing some game like counter strike and suddenly knocks over, dead.
That is an immage that you don't see every day!
THis doesn't worry me cuz i'm not a phychopathic addict and play my life away and then dying right on the toilet.

I was really shocked after reading this article.I knew there were people out there that are really addicted to games, but I had no idea that it would be this bad, landing the man to lose his life.In a way, it was his fault. Everyone knows that computer is not good for you and there should be a limit for it.However, this chinese man was being really stupid and irresponsible, playing games for 3 days. I think that theres a limit for everything and we should be the one responsible to control it not someone else. I dont think it is totally wrong to play games, because I myself play games too, but 3days..thats just a really dumb thing to do. Any kinds of addiction is wrong and we should try out best to get help or stop it ourself.

…after reading this article, I realized that playing game is not only bad for our eyes, but also to our body. Playing games for hours and hours can have a huge effect on our body function: our blood circulation and body movement.

After reading this article i was in shock. I have heard of addiction to the internet but never so that it could kill you. It seems like so many things are virtual reality these days and people just begin to live in that world. Im almost scared now to stay on the computer for too long.

...I'm amazed about the death of a man and the man playing on the internet for three days!!! Dosen't he sleep?!! I think the man was crazy!!! Nomal person would of fallen asleep...
I think it was kind of obvious tha t the man died. If he didn't eat or drink anything and didn't sleep for three days, he might of died because he had less or barely no energy... so my conclusion is that the man was kind of stupid... it's sort of sad...
But by reading this article, I thought again that playing internet games for three days is crazy!!!
I think Mr. McAllister posted this article, to make us afraid of playing games in the internet...!
What a good idea!!!

Before reading this blog, I had already known that it was possible to get addicted, but never did I imagine death. I think games have really effect teenagers and children, taking up their time when they can be socializing. For me even one or two hours on the computer leaves me tiered and drowsy, I can’t imagine staying on for three days. I think many people around the world should know that too long on the computer can harm your health or even cause death. Many people in Korea go to PC Bang after school and stay there till late at night. Also other games such as Wii or gameboy are also addicted by children or teens....I think that people shouldn’t play games, or if they do just for a short while. I read on a Japanese web site that the reason the man in China died is because after staying on the computer for 3 days, it paralyzes the muscles in your body and causes you to faint or even die. I belive that games and computers have effected that world in a negitive way, and people should be cautious.

After I read this...
it reminded me of many Koreans who spend days in the PC bong and becoming crazy and become mentally sick, going to the hospital. One Korean was in the PC bong and then was going for the bathroom, but suddenly the blood and the muscles were tensed in his body and the blood wasn't able to flow. He was found dead and this Chinese man reminds me of this happening. In Korea, almost everybody uses the internet and play games or addicted to it. you can see in many PC bongs full of people, most of them are 25 or younger. This makes a bad influence and even little 2nd, 3rd grade kids go to PC bong. I hope that people would come out of the real world, not the "cyber" world which does not even exist. Because of games and computers, many people lost interest in other entertainment and they only think about sitting in front of their computer. Not only boys play but girls and EVERY age has the condition to play. People die from playing games but they also lose their money from playing poker or gambling games. People take a great risk ( or a rather stupid act) and bet their life time money and become poor and eventually gets out of the society.
When games and internet first started to spread around the world, it was expected to be a success, but it wasn't used as wisely; it is now a big influence in the world and many people are suffering from it. I think it should be reduced and people should start thinking more of their health and their life more than games or internet.

ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO ADD

Korea has one of the fastest internet access and is quite outstanding in the IT and technology area. Many online games can be played and games such as Sudden Attack has made a hit although it was 18+ years older rank. Over 300,000 people can play at once but many korean games have violence in them. Quality, productivity and the story of the game is very outstanding and is popular around the world. Since the technology is getting better, more games are being produced and EVEN MORE PEOPLE ARE PLAYING GAMES!!!
they should stop or reduce the amount of games and reduce the amount of PC bongs located in korea. Although technology can be very helpful, if used in a bad way, the world could end up in a worse situation...

I think too many people this days are addicted to games. Many onlines game sites, many games that we can play for free. Once I heard the radio that Koran kids play online games to release their stress.

i reall think the chinese people plays games but when i read the cnn. but ther is a lot of games like playstation3 and x-box nitendo but the person from china plays games for three days of smoking and not sleeping and just focusing in a game is to addacting people so i think the good play for 1 hour and not make for stressful on a game is to think none of activity in minds so it ink if i was a person like china person was very stressful to be death

In Korea, many people dead because of playing games online .
To me, it's not strange incident.
And people can die on 3hours when they play game .
It depends on environment like sealed place or well ventilated place.

seriously, this is really idior story of someone because he died of nothing and i can't understand how he can play game for 3days i know that sometimes the internet and stuffs stimulate us but not 3days! in my opinion, this is part of fault of this person but also the host of this cafe because he maight stop him and he might figure out this person for the better life, he might think of health of people too i think that's the real business... we might think people in first not the money in first -> this have rto be 2nd. anyhow, he died... but next time he sees, i wish he will stop people

I was shocked when I read this article. I discovered that we could die from playing computer game for a long time. One time I play games online for five hours. After I did that, I was been sick. So I can believe this. In the future I will not do computer more than 3 hours. If I have to play a computer game more than 3 hours, I will have a break each hour.

wow!
I had heard from someone that there was a guy that had played internet games for 3 days and then died, but i didn't really believe that. I don't really play that many internet games because i think it's pretty much a waste of time, but i know some people that just live for internet and video games so i really hope that they read this article and maybe think differently about how much time they should spend on the internet. That seems a little extreme to die from playing internet games but i guess it must be true because there have been a lot of other people that have died from playing too many internet games too. Well, we're learning about China in class so I guess this man that was in China relates to China...so i think that's how it relates to what we're talking about in class. This was a very interesting article about the dangers of playing too many internet games and I will remember that incase some day I feel like I should stay up for the next 3 days playing only internet games. haha

WHOA DUDE!! That is scary... my mom said I’m addicted to games but i barely play. WHAT IF I AM ADDICTED!!?!? What if I die?! I can’t believe a man died by playing games. I really can’t believe that he played for three days?!? That is rather stupid because that is bad for your health and also eyes and you will probably become lazy and become like a couch potato. I think I should stop playing games a lot and start studying and start worrying about my HW and education. These days, school is getting harder and harder because of the grading system which means I have to start studying and working harder and less games.

after reading this i was very shocked because it is very kind of stupid to waste your life just because of too much internet gaming. Even in korea there are too many pc games and i think that people should cut down. Its not that hard on game systems but its especially hard on the PC because they are so addicting and its easy to get. MOst pc games u can get for free so tahts a reason why people get addicted and eventaully even die. After reading this im not going to play a lot of pc games anymore because i do not want to die./

News about people dying because of the overuse of the computer is not that shocking to me. I have heard this before. These days many people are addicted to the computer (especially the internet). The internet is such a popular thing these days and more and more of these cases are happening. If someone thinks that people should do something about it I disagree. This is because even though the internet can be harmful to you if you use it too long it helps us in so many ways. I’m not saying that the guy dying is a regular thing, but I really think we can’t do anything about that. You have to control how long you go on the Internet. If it were possible I guess the Internet company could try to change their software so it is not so energy-consuming. The man was crazy. If he was so tired, how could he keep going on the Internet like that? The Internet is something I use a lot. However I know that I’m not going to spend all my time on the Internet like that man.
I believe this article was chosen because Mr McAllister knows that probably everyone in TCIS has used the computer. More like over half the people in this world. Now we’d be pretty scared to go on the Internet as much. The Internet is such a popular thing everyone could relate to it.
Well Social Studies is about the world. The people of the world (most of them) use the internet. I don’t think I have seen a computer without the internet. Also, the man who died of exhaustion is Chinese. We have learned about China. This article would have affected many people.

i wasn't surprised about this because there's too many people who are attempted by games. seriously, i can't understand those people who are addicted by games because when i do games, i m not really addicted by... any way this man is reallly foolish because he died just because of this game. the most striking thing is that he didn't realized he was sleepy or not. he is so mean i really want to know how he is dead (how it looked) because if he was dead of games he may was playing game until th moment that he dies?~!!!! anyhow those games makes people to be crazy

i also saw the similar situation in tv. That the people i saw in Tv dind't die but he becam patient that can't know which situation is true to him. i mean, he confused situation in game and reall life. it also causes his personality. in reall life he was so shy man so he wanted to be nice guy. but he relized he can be a nice guy in the game and can do what he wants in game. Anyway, also there are many bad things like can die and became patient but i think if we be careful and pratices to control ourselves more and more we can prevent those situation.
