I never knew that Japan had such a diverse culture and deep history. I grew up in Korean culture, and had many negative idea with Japan, and personally I still can not get off the hostility towards Japan for all the cruel deed it has done in its past. Personally its not the history that makes me angry, but its Japan's attitude towards it. For instance, Germany have many appologies and modified itself since the WWII in order to do much effort to repay what they did, but Japan not only denies many cruel acts they have done, but in fact ignores and sometimes even trys to out rule our own land or history such as Dokdo. Anyway, I've personally been to Japan, but I have not known that they had so much population as well as diverse in languages and culture. It was very interesting article to read, especially due to current time, at WAR!! ^^ By the way, it was very clever of you to camaflaush so much work under the name of "game"..hehe bye~

It was nice to learn something new about Japan. I never knew that there were that many cities in Japan. Also the lifestyle is very different from Korea. I found it very interesting when i read the parts about their culture and housing, etc. I never knew this much about Japan. This article has shown me the diversement of the country and it has a very interesting history along with culture. I think that this website/article was good for us to learn some new things about Japan. I also found it interesting when I found out about the food. I noticed that they have similar foods to what we eat in Korea. They also have sort of a similar lifestyle compared to ours. I liked seeing the pretty kimonos and the other dances, etc. I think this article has influenced me alot with the country's traditions, etc.

Mr. Mcallister put this article on because we are learning about Japan.

I knew Japan because of comics, but I didn't know that they had diverse cultures even though it's a country (one country). 47 prefectures is a lot. Also, from the nine regions, I only knew Hokkaido, Shikoku, and Kyushu.
Sure different parts of Korea have some different stuffs, but I think that maybe Japan have many more differences of each region than Korea's regions. Also, Japan may be bigger than Korea, but it's smaller than U.S. (even its states) and it has the tenth highest population in the world! I really wonder how they bear all those people!!! Also, the population density is 342 people per square kilometer! And its figure is much higher than the U.S.! Japan is Asia just like Korea, and have some things in common with Korea. But still, they are different...
I didn't like Japan when I was little because of some adults telling us how Japan took control of Korea, and gave Koreans a hard time. But now, I don't really dislike them for what their ancestor did (but I wouldn't like them if they deny that what their ancestors did was bad) and now I like Japan because there are many interesting customs, kimonos, and comics I enjoy ^^ Some people also say that becasue of global warming, and all those glaciers melting and increasing the sea levels, Japan is going to be covered in ocean. I know that I may not be able to change this, but I do hope that Japan will stay out of water. -_-

Wow…that’s a lot of prefectures for that tiny island on the Pacific Ocean. It’s so weird and cool how so many people can live in a tiny island altogether. Even though I’ve never been to Japan, except for at their airports, I bet it’s really crowded. Even when I went to the airport in Japan, there were many people there. It was so hot too. I had no idea that Japan would have all these regions with many different styles of living and cultures. If I thought of Japan, at any random time, I would imagine bright lights at night and hundreds of people walking on the streets with very weird styles of clothing. But to hear that there is more to that is pretty cool. Now I know that all the countries of the world can be like Korea, maybe. But I don’t think Korea has different cultures inside the country, like Japan does. Anyway, I also never imagined that Japan would be covered and populated with mountains. I was happy to see the name of my region, Shikoku. It’s not fair how people are taking advantage of how small our land is. Some people say, “Oh they are surrounded in that small area and it might be hard to get out of there so let’s attack them!” I noticed that this game can be filled with nervousness because of other groups (regions) in the game. But I also think this game is really helpful and its fun to feel like we are important and we rule over something. Sometimes it gives me a feeling like we are actually trying to keep our land in real life.=]Anyway thanks for the blog!

Wow! I didn’t know that Japan had so many regions! Before I read this article, I knew only a few regions, thanks to the Geography worksheet. I also didn’t know that all these regions were made out of 47 prefectures. I wish that the site had the definition included, because right now, I’m not sure what a prefecture really is… Reading this article, I realized that Japan was alike China in some ways. For example, Japan, like China, has many regions and they are all unique and different. When I was young, I visited Japan once, but I had only visited Osaka, which according to this site, is located in region Kinki. I wish that someday, I could go to Japan again and visit different regions. I want to see the different culture and arts. However, once I read the last two paragraphs, I became a little reluctant. I already knew that Japan was a well-populated country, but I didn’t know that Japan was 10th in population. Another reason was because only 30% of Japan is made up of plains, rest mountains. This would mean that most of the 127 million people would be at the plains because all the major cities are located in plains. I don’t enjoy being a part of a crowd. I think this is an awesome site and I am glad to find out what region my city was from. I wonder if my city is part of the major cities that “fulfill roles as the political, economic, and cultural hubs of their respective regions.” I wish that we could get more articles to read about Japan. I think this could somehow help us, not only with the game, but with our studies.

I never knew some of the thing on that link even though I lived in Japan. For example, I knew there was a lot of people in Japan but not that many. Japan, I think, has the best foods in the world. Even though I’m Korean, I’ve got to admit Tokyo and Yokohama has really diverse foods. Tokyo has a lot of un-Japanese things. In Tokyo I remember a bit of different dialect from Hokkaido. Hokkaido dialect is bit like Busan dialect. It’s the language, but different pronunciation. Compared to each other Korea and Japan is half and half like and dislike each other. Japan didn’t feel crowded where I lived but as soon as you go to downtown, it feels like a crammed subway. I want to go to Japan again this time visiting Hokkaido and Shikoku and Osaka. Even though I lived in Japan I forgot mostly everything, except for food…-_-;; Food was too good to be forgotten;P I think that this relates to something we were doing in class because we are learning about Japan we had that test on Geography of Japan. I think that it was chosen because we are doing that game!!!~~~
Thanks for the blog!! Made we remember my almost forgotten memories of Japan:p

Nice.. This was a more specific geography of Japan. Japan has really that many cultural regions?? Wow.. Well I learned that Japan has 47 prefectures and nine major regions of Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kinki, Chugoku, Shikoku, Kyushu, and Okinawa. I can't believe that each of these particular regions have different customs and foods and all. Wow.. Japanese population is 127 million??!! That is about twice as much as South Korea!! It is amazing how so much people can crowd onto that island (342 people per sq. kilometer). Soon, they might run out of land space in the whole country! Japan's topography I learned, is very mountainous. 70% actually. Only 30% is plain and on these plains cities are located. The massive cities of millions show how well distributed the population is but you do have to consider tokyo.. The major biggy.
Mr. Mcallister chose this because we are currently studying japan.

This Relates to class by giving us a more specific geography/topography of japan.

hey this is a really cool site. This is helping me with the "War Lords of Japan" (the game in class) and i got some good info about Shikoku. Shikoku is known for its "Yellow Fish" and its metel industy. I have also learned about more than just MY island so I can exploit the weakneses of other city :). So now I will read some more, thaks for the new blog, this will be "Good Fortune" to you who read the site. Thanks MM for the new blog and please...remember to do it consistently!

Ok.. So today I learned another thing by doing this blog. Whoa, I didn't know that Japan had diverse culture. I just thought that they had the same culture. However, today I found out that they don't have the same culture. Even tough I lived so close to Japan for about 15 years, I didn't know lot about it. I think that I didn't learn much about Japan becuase I grew up in Korean culture. Since long time ago Japan took over Korea, I just thought that Japan was a bad country without learning and knowing lots of thins about them. However, by studying social studies grade eight course I got a chance to learn about Japan's culture and history. Some people think that China, Korea and China are same. That is a wrong information. We all have diffrence in a good and a bad way. I think that our wonderful teacher McAllister put this up becuase we are fighters in Japan! By the way thanks for a helpful information^_^

It was interesting to know that Japan had such a diverse culture and history. When I was little I didn't really like the attitude of Japan and that they never did any appologies to Korea for being so cruel in WW2. I understand why Japan's at the world's best, but I still don't like Japan when I think about the things Japan did to us. Anyways, it was interesting to know that Japan had many diverse culture.
(i disagree with 02371(Myaeng) it's mean, but I hope Japan sinks as fast as it can!)
Thank You Mr. Mcallister for sending this blog although you are buzy teaching us the fun games!!!

I love Japan! As well as Korea. Actually I love Asia! YAY! The whole world has a different diverse super cool special culture and diversity! In this Japan likes comparing their differences to the different sides of Japan, but there are many difference in America also from the east side and the west side. So seing these differences show a comparison between those two countries! AMAZING.

I kind of saw the other side of Japan. I was grown in Korea, and Korea has a really negative view about Japan. I think that is basically because of the Japan invasion and talking a lot of our natural resources. I think that is why we don't learn about Japan in Korea. I think sometimes you need to admit the past and become more friendly with them. Japan has a deep history and diverse culture, and Korea has deep history as well as Japan. I think Korea and Japan could be together, but it might be impossible in a some view, beucause of Dokdo issue. Japan says Dokdo is their island, but actually it is ours, because it says it on our book and on their old Japense book too. I think Japan is kind of cheating in some ways, because they are not admitting that Dokdo is not there land. They are teaching kids that Dokdo is their land. I think Korea and Japan will be friendlier if they admit every single thing they did to Korea, or at least apologize to Korean people. I just feel Japan was a nice country and they had a rule that they need to be honest and honesty was important in Samurai time, but now it is becoming not like past. I just want Japan and Korea be kind and like a best friend.

Unbelievable i never knew Japan had such a diverse culture and a outgrowing history. Personally i had very negative thoughts about japan however after reading it I may have misunderstood them. Alot of information has struck me hard such as. Contrasts in everything from the taste of food to the style of traditional performing arts, and people have fun comparing them.Japan has a total population of 127 million. This is the tenth highest population in the world.Mountainous areas account for more than 70% of Japan's land, so major cities are concentrated in the plains that account for less than 30% of the land.Tokyo, needless to say, is the hub of Japan. It was very interesting to read this article because we are at war! Mr. Mcallister was very samrt in linking these information to what we are studying right now.

It's interesting how 70% of japan is made up of mountans. It's also interesting how different parts of Japan are so different. I am also curious why the little island on the SW part of the map isn't on the game map. I also can't believe that Japan is that densly populated. I would never survive that. I am so used to having lots of open space. (you can proabably tell who I am now)

P.S. I think that we should refrain from using other people's real names online. I remember that we were told to try to refrain from putting our real names up there, especially not other's.

I really have many negative and bad ideas about Japan. I think it is because one time Japan had conquered Korea and my grandparents are not that happy about that. Because of my Korean culure or enviorment, I didn't had a good chance to have a look on a Japan's history TILL NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now to the story or the main idea of this blog. First I'am really surprised about that Japan still having a prefectures. On the geographic and by seeing unique culture, these can be divided to Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kinki, Chugoku, Shikoku, Kyushu, and Okinawa. Also I'am really surprised about the each region having their culture and their own tradition. For example the Kanto region, which includes Tokyo, and the Kansai region, which includes Osaka, offer striking contrasts in everything from the taste of food to the style of traditional performing arts, and people have fun comparing them. One also I was really surprised was that Japan had total population of 127 million!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!That's a holy molly freaky lot. Japan has a tenth highest populaion in the world.
Break:Holy Moly this short blog make my brain pop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Japan's land is 70%almost high and mountainous area.
I will just go over with The region parts

Thanks

I didn't know that Japan had such a high population. 10th highest population in the whole world, 127million,that's a lot. There should be a lot of people living in all nine regions in Japan; Hokkaido, Tohoko, Kanto, Kinki, Chugoku, Shikoku, Chubu, Kyushu and Okinawa. It looks like there should be a lot of Japanese and other people in cities in all nine regions. I think there are some other people from other countries like in America, Europeans and other Asians for touring or living there. Japanese should be capable of understanding other countries' culture. This paragraph said there are some dialects and cultures in all nine different nations. It's like having nine different countries in a island. Long time ago, Korea and Japan were not having a quite a good relationship with each other, so Koreans have bad thoughts for the Japanese, especially Dakeshima, the island that Korea and Japan argued with, but I hope Korea and Japan will be nicer to each other and become a better neighbor countries.

This article helped me a lot in understanding about Japan. It was very detailed, and when I clicked Hokkaido, which is what I am in the War Lord of Japan, gave many information that I didn’t know. I was able to understand better about Japan and especially Hokkaido.
I knew that Japan had lots of mountainous regions, but it was new to me that it covered 70% of Japan. I think Korean culture and Japanese culture is somewhat similar. But they both have their own traditions. I also learned that Hokkaido was one of the cities that with population exceeding one million.
Hokkaido was under the sea of Okhotsk. Sapporo was the biggest city, and it is a very popular holiday tour area. Even though I have been to Japan, a lot of the information was new to me. However, this article, or site, was chosen because we can actually apply to what we’re doing in Social Studies class these days. To get extra credits, we can use some of this information. Also, we didn’t really learn about Japan in detail, these articles can help us learn. This connects to our class because we are doing a game related to Japan. It is very helpful for us to learn about the geography in order to have better plans, and also more about Korea’s neighbor country.

i never knew that japan had prefectures.I didn't really get to know Japan because i dont like them. But know i feel much better about Japan, i never knew that japan had 127 million people. That is alot and the are still able to feed their people. I believe that Japan is a beautiful and properous nation.I think this game will help us know more about Japan and it's culture.

I've always noticed that Japan was a wealthy nation and as well, improved. This website gave me the general idea of the history on how Japan was founded. I learned that Japan was too a civilization founded from nothing. However, deep as its history is, I am pretty much sure that hostile relationships between Japan and Korea are deep as well. The site never mentioned about Japan invading Korea in the 7Years War(Im-Jin-Wae-Rran), colonizing Korea, and many other times their hands reached Korea. Pretty clear it is that the websited it published by a Japan's defender. However, since every nation avoids their own negative spots, I do not blame this site. However, this perspective did help a little bit to be a Japanese in the game, to be proud and familiar as a Japanes player. However, I think Mr. McAllister posted this to widen our general and basic knowledge of Japan to help in the background essay.

cooool...japan has 47 different regions..?!?! thats a lot.
it was interesting how the names hokkaido, sendai, shikkoku, osaka, kyushu, nagasaki, and all those others were mentioned in the article. I don't quite really understand how this could help us with war lords of japan, but maybe it could for some people. A lot of Korean people, mostly adults, despise Japan because of all the harm that they did to Korea a long time ago...i don t think that they should keep that grudge betwween them because it's a story from a long time ago. i think that japan is a very prosperous country, and i think that people should forget about all that trash.

interesting website! The title of this website is Kids Web Japan, but it might also be useful for people who are studying about Japan. The menus are organized neatly at the left. In What’s Cool of Play section, it introduces the cool things of Japan like toys, animations, mangas, and Japan’s modern cultures and popularities. I found some new fascinating things and also things which I already knew. At Virtual Culture, it explains us special cultures of Japan. Because Japan is far apart from other countries’ culture, Japan’s culture is surely different than other cultures. Under those, there is Folk Legends which tells us the unique tales. I sometime enjoy some Japanese animations and mangas and often they make parodies about legends of Japan and I could not understand them, but after I read this all I might be able to response to them. The site also has Games, Quiz, and Gallery so people can enjoy and learn about Japan. They are enjoyable while learning about cultures. This site has Learn part, which is the most important, where we learn things, too. For kids, this learning section might be difficult because even I can hardly understand them. We can learn about Japan’s nature and climate, regions, housing, food, clothes, about schools, history, sports, etc. This interesting enjoyable site is good to learn while playing and good to play while learning. The well-organized articles and information with pictures and photos helps to make the knowledge information enter to my brain easy. Even the site have same contents than books and other sites, it is more fun to learn about Japan with this site.

Whoaaa! This site is quite interesting. Even though it's called "Kid's Web Japan", it has many information about Japan, that I mostly didn't know about. As Mr.McAllister told us, I looked up at the section "learn" and I think that the "learn" section teaches us alot of information, and it's quite easy and simple to understand. From the "learn" section, I think that the part on history will help us the most with our game that we are playing in class. The game is based on the history of Japan, because it's a game that uses empires, which they don't use anymore in Japan. Also, when we play the game, sometimes the tests, caligraphy and artwork sheets, and many other sheets that we receive are based on the history and geography of Japan. So, I think that the "learn" section could actually help us for playing the game. Anyways, when I looked through this site, what I found appealing was that it has information both on Japan's present and past. Such as the timeline on "history", shows the development of Japan from the early ages to today. In fact, the timeline is clear to understand and I like how it compares Japan to the major world events that happened during those time periods. Looking through the timeline as a Korean, I was disappointed that they didn't list any fact about attacking Korea. However, I don't have any feelings towards Japan but I'm just hoping that they would accept what they have done in the past. Actually, I learned Japanese for two years in the past and I have visited Japan before. So, this game is entertaining for me so far.

Even though Japan and Korea had many problems during the past, I personally like Japan and it's a fascinating country! Thank you Mr.McAllister for letting us know about an awesome site and having us to play the "War Lords of Japan"!

I never knew Japan had such a high population because Japan's land area looked quite small. I think that is why in the cities of Japan, it is very dense and crowded, so most of the roads have people walking instead of cars. The fact that Japan had a long history also suprised me. I didn't think Japan kept such a long history becuase japan looks very contemporary. I think this site has good information for kids(?) and teens. We can first PLAY around with stuff in the page and then we can LEARN about history/culture/geography etc of Japan. However i don't think "kids" can actualy learn; i think it is suitable for6~8grade students who hav learned about japan a little already. I think this helpd me a little bit to learn about some facts about Japan.
mine is kind of short becuase i didn't really have much to say.
Thanks for reading my comment

I read the part about Japanese culture, both old and modern. When it talks about the Kabuki theator, it says that only men acted, even if it was a woman role. That made me wonder why only men acted. Maybe it was because it was concidered a man job or because woman weren't as important as men are. I'm not sure... I enjoyed reading about the different types of theator and performances that went on long ago and nowadays. I found it interesting that there are certain cartoons that are now known to children worldwide. I also found it interesting that Bunraku, the style of puppet theator, is concidered to be one of the worlds most refined forms of puppet theator. Overall, I learned a lot abu the Japanese culture and arts.

Like other countries, Japan has its own regions that have THEIR own customs, traditions, dialects, etc. So all the places like Hokkaido, Shikoku, Osaka, and all the other places are in the same country Japan but have their own styles of life and others. And I realized that even though Japan, China, and Korea are different countries, we have many similarities too, probably because of the Asian culture. The Japanese population of 127 million amazed me. When I see Japan on the map, it looks like a very small island, but actually, 127 million people are in that "small" land, which makes it a very crowded place. I hope we get more and more blogs that will help us in the "war lords of Japan"

After reading and browsing throught the site, I realized that Japan like China also had diverse culture. 47 prefectures I think is a lot! There are different food and different dialects in Japn like Korea. Japan's population is very dense and crowded, and I think It's intresting that seventy percent of Japan consists of mountains. There is an urban region in Japan, but we also have to realize that there are rural areas. I think this has to do with some of the geography worksheets we have done in class. It gives us a brief description of Japan's geography and much more. This blog was posted to give us a review and a better insight on Japan. I think I enjoyed reading this blog, and I would have enjoyed it more if I knew the blog was posted on November 5th.

I thing that is a great web site to learn about Japan because that site had so much infomations and also it had fun games that we can play

Although Japan is only one country it has a wide variety of culture. Each and every region is unique and is different from one another. For example one city's language might be slightly different than the next. One city's history and tradition might be different. There are also many other things.
Japan wears a mask. It covers its destructive thoughts and plans with its magestic and wonderous tradtions. You might never know when Japan takes off its mask, because underneath, there is a smiliar mask. Deep down, you know Japan and its wonders, but in order to find those beauties, you must go through rocks and dirt.
By reading this, I found that Japan is like every other country with its unique touch. We just judge Japan through things that it has done and ignore the fact that inside they may really be trying to change and theyre really just like us. Trying to get through life. But how is that possible when all countries have turned their back on them?? We should give them another chance to change.

I found it very interesting that the lifestyle in each reigons have their own dialect, customs and culture that it might be slighty diffrent than each other. Even though Japan is a small country, it doesnt mean that there would be a low population and people would have same sides of looking at things. Japan is the worlds 10th coutry for having high population.

Till now I though that Japan was a bad, negative country..but I decided that I should give some time and be more open minded about that country and try to find out whats good not only negative. This article made me relize that size doesnt matter when it comes to things. For such a small country Japan has provided both beauty and destruction. It has provided beauty by diverse cultures and tradition and also has proved on desturction by using its knowledge. Japan might of left a bad impression for many countries but I have a feeling that deep inside they have similar sides like us.

I never knew how densley populated Japan was i've only been in the airports but now that i think about it, it always seemed crowded but i guess i didn't notice because korea also has such a high population. It is amazing uch a small country can have the 10th highest population in the world. I wonder how South Korea is ranked?
I think getting new info will really help with our game.

I always knew that Japan had a diverse range of cultures but I didn't know they had this many. Japan was never really in my countries knowledge and so I used to ignore news about what Japan has done but now I think this article changed my mind because now I have begun to get an understanding of Japan. I can relate this fact that India being on of the biggest countries in the world has a huge variation of languages but Japan being a small island has many as well. This article will help me because now I know what to do on my next move.

I never knew that Japan was a diverse country. Because it didn't have a lot of influence through other countries but it gave alot of influence to other countries like china, korea and almost all of southeast asia. But I think i know why Japan has such a diverse culture it is because of the wars going inside of the country from many years before they had control over other countries. And I never knew that japan had a big population, because of the competition between india and china are or were quite intense. The mountaneous areas I think are a problem because most of those mountains evolve into a volcano which can damage alot of farms near that region and can kill alot of people.

JAPAN!
~sigh~
well i personally don't like japan but i like the anime and stuff. They're the best! But the other stuff and on the whole, i don't like japan. They were mean and bullied Koreans for no reason. Those stupid fools found that killing people was fun and started killing us. I hope that a meteor kills Japaneese and destroys the people. Not only were they cruel, they destroyed the land and took all the treasure. The Nazis might have been some cruel killers with a stupid motive but they weren't this stupid and foolish and cruel. Gassing and razing a country to the ground is not the same things, the former sounds quite tame compared to the latter. i think that 02371 is a fool for thinking that Japan should be saved by the water. DROWN DROWN DROWN!! DEATHDEATHDEATH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
The ironic thing is that Korea and Japan are so closely related and they are one on one business partners. I knew that Japan had a huge population and since the land is small, we can all deduce that people are on the land and that the huge population must be crowded getting a high population density. The culture must be different in different places because it happens all around you. Are we here like the people in Je-Ju-Do?? No right, are people in New York same as ones in Texas??? No, right y'all!
It also says that Japan is mountainous. For those people who was here last year or even heard of the RIng of Fire, they should know that Japan is one of the hotspots. THey are right on the ring. (hope an earthquaqe gets them) That makes people crowd on flatter places where things are better and nicer.

this article was chosen because..
WE ARE DOING WARLORDS OF ~JAPAN~!!
Japan, Japan, duh!
-
again, we are doing warlords of Japan and we are looking at a article all about Japan, coincidence?? NO!

P.S. i think this site has too little information. It is only about the immediate geography. It makes it sound like Japan is some sort of fairyland with nice food and nice people and nice everything. Horrible Histroy series could do better than this.

Wow! This site has a lot of information! From Warlords of Japan, I was able to learn about the country Japan. However this site has much more! This site has things about the culture, food, history, and probably everything I could think of. The first time I opened that site I saw the map of Japan. Before, I didn’t even know any of the cities except for the capital Tokyo. I’ve even been there myself, but I never knew anything about that place. This is certainly a great site to learn about Japan. Not only does it have a lot of information, it is easy to understand and interesting with all the pictures and colors. I believe this article was chosen since we are doing Warlords of Japan and this site could help us know more about Japan. We are studying Japan, so naturally Mr McAllister would want us to know about it. Right now we are learning about the history of Japan, a bit of the language, and the past leaders. This site also contains that and other things as well.

I learned so many things about Japan at this time. I didn't know that Japan had such enormous histories. Because I know a lot about Japanese stars or celebrites, I'm really interested in everything about Japan. So I studied this topic(Japan) with good participation. When I read this article, I thought it was very interesting that Japan has so many diverse culture. There are not so many countries like Japan. I think Mr.Mcallister put this article because this article will help us to learn more about Japan. Japan is very disciplined and organized country, comparing to Korea. But I love Korea for sure. Usually, Koreans doesn't like Japan very much because of history. Japan has long long history and it will continue for more than million years. If Japan continues these great strong points, Japan will develop to the top. And I'm pretty happy that I was the first Shogun ! It was very good way to make students to learn about Japan.

It was very interesting to see a kid's website. I think it was very informative. I found out that Japan has a diverse culture and history. I studied the map of Japan and found some tiny details. I hated to see the letter "Sea of Japan" because it actually belongs to Korea. I think that's one of the reasons that I don't really like Japan. Anyway, I hope I can learn and be closer to Japn by studying about Asia.

47 PREFECTURES!!! AND 342 PEOPLE PER SQUARE KILOMETER. that is pretty alot for the size of Japan. I think Japan is really amazing because they were in isolation for 200 years and they were really behind but then they caught up with everyone. They caught up pretty fast and that is what makes me think Japan is so amazing. WHen i was little, i was living in AMerica and when i was little, i thought Japana and Chine were bad guys and bad countries because they fought with America and i always thought America was the good guys. So i didnt like the China and Japan and im not a racist either. But now since i learned more about Japan, and even had a fun game about it, i think i want to visit Japan and see Japan in real life.
I could have gone to Japan several times for vision trips at my church but i didnt want to because i dont want to go with my church but i want to go with my school friends are my family. I dont want to go with my church because they can only speak korean and i dont like korean very much. I think that Japan is very amazing for its size of its country and that it is an island. THEY ALSO HAVE THE TENTH HIGHEST POPULATION IN THE WORLD! HOW AMAZING IS THAT! Japan had really improved and i thought we were going to have a war with Japan because of fighting over Dokdo. I only knew that Japan was made up of HOkkaido, Honshu, and Kyushu or something but now that i read the ariticle, they have way more that i cant even remmeber now.
sorry but i lost my id card so i dont know my number and i am hansol.

I learned that Japan has 47 prefectures and those can be divided into nine regions.
I didn't know about Japan very well. I knew that Japan is made with many islands, but I didn't know that Japan has many prefectures.

BOB here
In this blog I focused on the nature and the climate of Japan. When ever I thought of Japan I thought of it as a huge pice of lane, but then after reading this I saw that it was only a little smaller than California! Japan is a train of island that are sourrounded by water. Also Japan has a very varide climate. Durring the summer it is hot and moist, and during the winter it is cold and dry. The highest temerature can be up to 40 degrees Celsius and the lowest at -41 degrees Celsius! Japan often has natural disasters such as typhoons, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes. "These disasters can claim many lives, as in the Kobe Earthquake of January 1995 and the Niigata-Chuetsu Earthquake of October 2004." Because of the thousand millions or even billions of dollars in damage, Japan has used their advanced technology to try to reduce the damage by creating quake-resistant structures. I think that we can use this a realate it to class for more of an understanding thin the game we are playing 'Warlords of Japan'.
I think that this site has helped me have a better understanding of Japan it nature and its climate.

I thought it was cool how Japan had like one of the 10 highest populations in the world. I mean, Japan looks really small. It's an island off the coast of asia that doesn't have very big land area. Cuz like the USA has a huge land area. It looks like you could fit a hundred or more Japan's in it,but Japan has like 3 or 4 times the population. It's crazy!! I figured out how people do it by coming to korea though. Instead of spreading out and having personal bubbles, they go up and learn to get used to having 2 or 3 people in their personal bubbles all the time. So, I went to Japan once and I understood how they did it. I think cars just take up too much space, so they all go around on foot or bikes. I think it was fun to read this article because we're learning about Japan and it's fun to kind of know the backgroud of it instead of just what we're learning. Thanks Mr. McCallister

this was an interesting blog because it told me stuff about japan that i never really new. its cool that japan has 127 million people in japan and is the 10th highest population in the world. if u think about it just from common sense, you really think taht japan doesnt have a lot of people beacuse its just practically a small island. Another interesting thing was taht every province has its down way of living, culture, and ect. thats cool because even though its ''one japan'' every province lives with different styles, and i htink thats kool!~ the last thing is that i never relaly thought that japan was a fully developed country, probably because i never tried to figure out but now that i read this i saw that japan is quite developed and is trying to make itself a better place.
